Dr. Tim Moore

Pastor

Tim Headshot IMG

Tim has been pastor at Sardis since July 1995. He and his wife, Magay Shepard, and their three children live nearby in the Stonehaven neighborhood. When Abby, Hannah and Michael were born in 1998, the church changed his call to half-time to allow him time with the children at home.

A former West Virginian, Tim is a lifelong Marshall University fan and will gladly loan out copies of the "We Are Marshall" movie. If you are looking for a new tennis partner, he’ll also be glad to volunteer.

Currently, Tim chairs the CMS Inter-Faith Advisory Council, serves on Cotswold Elementary School’s Leadership Team and as a Trustee for Mars Hill College. He is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, Andover Newton Theological School in Boston and Mars Hill College in the North Carolina mountains.

Rev. Becky Proctor

Interim Minister of Music

Becky has been a musician nearly all her life.  She began taking piano and voice lessons at age 8 and organ at age 15.  When Becky was 17 she felt a call from God to work in Christian ministry.  Attending James Madison University and Hollins College, she combined her love for God and for music by majoring in organ and in religion.  She served in Roanoke area churches as organist, choir director, and minister of music until she left to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987.  After graduating with honors (Associate Excellence Award for top academics and participation in community leadership) Becky was called to Rosalind Hills Baptist Church, where she served for 13 years, until she retired from her role as Associate Pastor for Music and Worship in 2003.

Becky, and her husband, Rick moved to Charlotte shortly after her retirement so that she could be close to her son and grandsons.  She visited with Sardis, sang with the choir the second Sunday she visited and quickly fell in love with the church.

Becky will use her gifts for music and ministry by serving as interim minister of music while the search process for a new minister of music is completed.
